Water Fitness
Water fitness is a conditioning program designed to help men & women achieve and maintain a good physical fitness level. This class stresses movement against the water's resistance to develop muscle tone and overall fitness. The exercises are done in the shallow end of the pool enabling non- swimmers as well as swimmers to participate. This is a excellent exercise program without the wear & tear on the weight bearing joints.
Please note: starting in January 2012, Water Fitness will be a 3 day/week class.

Aquacize
This is a shallow water exercise class that consists of aerobic activity and spot exercises done in the pool to music. Doing these exercises in the water provides resistance to each movement, with the buoyancy causing less wear & tear on the body, while providing great results to your cardiovascular system.

Arthritis Aquatic Program
This is a recreational pool program for people with arthritis. Program participants are lead by a trained instructor through a series of specially designed exercises that, with the water's buoyancy and resistance, may help improve joint flexibility. The warm water and gentle movements may also relieve pain & stiffness. It is not necessary to be able to swim since all exercises are done at the shallow end of the pool. The YMCA has a set of graduated steps or a lift to make entries & exits easy.
