Lifeguard Training

Learn the skills needed to be a professional lifeguard. 100% participation in the class is required for certification. Participants must be free from physical and mental impairments that would limit them from accomplishing specific task. Tasks include visual acuity, various audio ranges, and the ability to lift, unaided, 50 pounds. Must be 15 years of age or older.

This comprehensive course provides the foundation for effective lifeguarding principles. Included are advanced water safety and lifesaving skills, how to handle special water emergency rescues and equipment. Courses specialize in First Aid for aquatic environments. All courses contain the American Red Cross CPR for the PR/AED/Oxygen Administration and First Aid.

Registration will be open at the YMCA through May 13th. 

Participants must be at least 15 years old by the first day of classes.

Class fee is $185.  

Class size is limited to ten participants
