The YMCA saw many improvements during the GE-sponsored Volunteer Workday on Saturday, June 29, 2002.  Through a grant provided by the national and local McDonalds', monies provided by the GE Elfun Community Service Fund, and monies earned by the Y preschool over the past three years, our YMCA was able to install a new PlayScape and other playground pieces for use by the Y's preschool and day camp.

The hallway leading from the locker rooms to the pool also saw new improvements, as new ceiling panels were installed and a fresh coat of paint was put on the walls.  New wheelchair ramps and a bicycle rack were also constructed.

Over 30 volunteers, consisting of GE employees, Timken employees, YMCA board members, other friends of the YMCA, and many of their family members helped to make this workday a great success.
