We appreciate all of your responses to our race.  Suggestions or advice are always welcome.

If anyone has other comments or race-day photos to share with us, they can be emailed to kchavatzas@bucyrusymca.org , or can be mailed to the Y at 1655 E. Southern Avenue, Bucyrus, OH  44820.

The responses to the feedback were written by either Kim Chavatzas [KC] (Race Director & Program Coordinator) or Dr. Jeff Holter [JH] (past Race Director, Tri committee member, and Y webmaster).

From letters, phone calls, and emails:

  • From Jennifer Robinson via email: "This was my first triathlon and I had a wonderful time! The event was very well put together!  The volunteers were wonderful! Thanks for a great race!"  We do indeed love the work our volunteers do here at the Bucyrus YMCA.  It takes about 45 people on the course, plus all of the ladies that help us with the post-race refreshments.  And we truly appreciate the safety services provided by our local police, sheriff, and ambulance services.  JH

  • From Mike Styer via email:  "After looking at the stats, I can tell you why my times and Laurie Young's are incomplete. When we finished the bike, there was no one at the transition area to help us figure out where to go. We looked around and could not find anyone around to direct us to the right path. We didnt see anyone at the bike finish, nor in the transition area. We went out the bike entrance, and that must have been the wrong spot. I would suggest that next year, you have someone standing right there to guide runners out. Luckily, I did keep track of my own times, so I can fill in my blanks. Not sure what happened there, Mike; somehow, you two are the only ones we managed to miss.  We'll take your suggestion under consideration.  (On another note, though--my son did a Tri at Deer Creek this past weekend put on by HFP racing - they're a big outfit, and the race was over 500 people - and they managed to miss a few splits too.  For the size that we are, we do what we can).  JH

  • From Todd Brahler via email:  "Great event...  This was my first tri and it was a great experience Unfortunately, I had to leave early (before the awards ceremony).  Can you please e-mail me the results.  If so, please reply to all. Thanks."  Thanks for the kind words, Todd.  I believe Kim has emailed the results to all the participants; if you didn't get them yet, the results are also now posted here on the web page. JH
