Sunshine!!  Again!!  I don't get it. . . .  On  beautiful spring day (for the second year in a row), with sun in the sky and temperatures in the high 60's, the Bucyrus YMCA held its 13th annual Triathlon on Saturday, May 28th.  The event, which consisted of a 500-yard swim, a 12-mile bike ride, and a 3.5-mile run, welcomed a field of 23 individuals and 7 teams.

As far as the overall winners go, we're starting to sound like a broken record.  The overall winner of the Men’s division was Todd Briggs of Grosse Point, MI (for the third time in 4 years), with a time of 1:02:40.  Winning the Female division was Sara Colegrove of Grosse Point, MI (for the second year in a row),  in a time of 1:15:51.

I've about given up that we'll ever bring the overall awards back to Ohio. . . .

In the Team divisions, Tri Y from Mansfield, OH, won the Coed Team,  the Knit Wits from Galion, OH won the Female Team, and the CC Flyers from Galion, OH, won the Men's Team.  The top Crawford County Male was our very own YMCA Maintenance Man, Hans Stadler of Bucyrus.

Our  participant numbers were down a little bit this year.  Start working on your friends now for next year--tell them about the beautiful weather, the great cookies and snacks, and the friendly folks (then just mention in passing that they might need to swim, bike, and run a little).
