As our YMCA celebrates 105 years in the Bucyrus community, we recently hosted our annual appreciation dinner to give much thanks to the numerous volunteers that help us to be an organization that we can all be proud of. There were two recipients of the Franklin “Skinny” Myers Award for outstanding volunteerism during the past year. Alan Bacon and Bruce Sloan each received the award for the time and efforts that they gave to our YMCA. Both men truly have the YMCA in there heart and they do an exorbitant amount of volunteering to better our YMCA. During the dinner, Dr. Jeff Holter was recognized with a plaque for his exceptional leadership as the President of the board of directors for the last two years. Volunteers are crucial to the success of our YMCA. “Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart” Elizabeth Andrew The annual appreciation dinner is also a time in which I get to publicly thank my staff for their dedications and efforts to our organization. Sandra Rostash was recognized with a gift for her 10 year commitment to the Bucyrus Area YMCA. Sandra has been a key leader of our staff and she truly reflects the core values that our YMCA stands for: caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility. I am very proud to be leading such a wonderful and dedicated staff. Having volunteers and staff who have their hearts in the right place is why I honestly love my job. Enjoy the sunshine, and God Bless,
Matt
